Description
Also know as:
- Don't melt my GPU
- Don't eat my battery

Disables VSync and allows you to control the max FPS

By default RimWorld will happily eat all it is allowed under VSYNC. What does it mean? If your monitor refresh rate is high, it will happily eat it all. That's why, if you want to open Youtube in the background or something else. RimWorld will cry and moan and want more GPU and battery in STATIC panels during a paused game.

This mod also helps poor PCs with slower video cards to not melt and saves your battery.

You should use this mod if your PC has stuttering problems or you want to listen to Youtube in the background without RimWorld crawling.

You can control how much FPS you want, maybe you want higher too. No problem, go to settings and do as you desire.

Alternatively on Github[github.com]

Encourage me to keep modding

@TheBronzeWarrior there's no such thing as a mod that will force an increased framerate. You can try something like AMD's Fluid Motion Frames or an optimization mod

@Delta7777777 I tried FileSeek, it seems to be garbage, use it Everything [www.voidtools.com]

can this be used to increase my fps beyond 16 when playing with 60 colonists

Wait, is it not supported on MAC judging by your comment down below?

Can't do anything about that here.

Yes, I confirm - when FrameRateControl and Achtung! are enabled at the same time, the forced motion breaks on the second mod

Essential mod once you've got the bloat and your system under control.

A system admin tool called Process Lasso trims your data caches (cleans up) and so allows Rimworld to operate much smoother.

Once you have Process Lasso installed, go to the Options located on top-left, then go to Memory, then click on SmartTrim Options.
From there set it to trim at 1 minute intervals and when RAM exceeds 65% and memory for program processes exceeds 3000Mb.

Then hit OK and launch Rimworld with this tool active. It works great and is completely client-side, meaning you can run it offline without issue.
Thanks for Guasco here on steam for mentioning it in RimThreaded comments.

Also 'FileSeek' will help you look for key information in your mod files directory. It's free/offline too.
