A system admin tool called Process Lasso trims your data caches (cleans up) and so allows Rimworld to operate much smoother.
Once you have Process Lasso installed, go to the Options located on top-left, then go to Memory, then click on SmartTrim Options.
From there set it to trim at 1 minute intervals and when RAM exceeds 65% and memory for program processes exceeds 3000Mb.
Then hit OK and launch Rimworld with this tool active. It works great and is completely client-side, meaning you can run it offline without issue.
