Controller fix
This is a simple fix, don't need to do much, very easy to follow.

1. Go to where you install the game.
2. Right click on Evoland.exe click on Properties, click on Compatibility tab, now check the box "Run this program as an administrator.
3. Do the same as step 2, but with pad.exe.
4.Start the game, and enjoy you fix your problem.

This is an update for those still having trouble.

If using you're using a controller that doing Dinput you must switch it to Xinput mode, check your controller manual to see if there is an option for that, or contact controller support site. If controller DOESN'T have option to switch modes, and only uses Dinput try using x360ce app, set up your controller for Xbox 360, once you have done it, the app will create xinput1_3.dll file, move that to the root of the game folder where the Evoland.exe is located. Make sure Steam controller input is not enabled, set to disable.

@FG| ZombieWolf6 Thanks for posting, going be updating this guide, it's seem to be outdated at least on Windows 11.

Now if you're using a controller doing DInput that be the problem, game ONLY CARES for Xinput, it will see your controller, if not then doing this guide should help get it to see the controller.

Now I tried with xbox series controller it just won't accept the inputs, but with my new controller I got recently to replace my Xbox 360 controller which is GameSir SE7 I have to change input mode to Xinput by pressing Share botton + Xbox/Home button for 3+ seconds until light goes out you let go, and light come back on, and the game accepts it.

If controller only uses Dinput try x360ce, once have set it up, it will make xinput1_3.dll, move that file to root of the game folder.

This doesn't work, all it did was change the controller not working to showing an error in the options Gamepad error # - 1073740940

This is the only game I've had any controller problems with in I dunno, 10 years, I could not figure out what the hell the problem was, thank you so much!!!!! :cupup::cuphead:
