General Info
This will ONLY work while the game server is running and your friends leaderboard is showing!

Due to the fact that the save data for the game is stored in different files it is possible to trigger a manual steam achievement unlock by replaying the mission with an empty achievements file. This guide shows you a way to get such one and then keep playing your normal profile.

This works for achievements that are unlocked in missions!
I am unsure if grinding achievements can be fixed that way too.

If you don't know how to navigate your disk, don't use this guide!
I used Total Commander to easier handle stuff but of course this can all be done with any File Manager like Windows Explorer.

This guide works for all the achievements with slight modifications, even for the grindy ones.
The difference is: You will need the proper files for the level and grinding stats prior to the achievement you need to unlock.
The Method is simple:
Replace the coresponding files for Level and Grind information with a clean one and grind up to the achieve you need or use one that is close to the achieve you need, like a lvl 19 one thats short to ding 20 for the achievement.
Because i will NOT offer any files to this guide i will also not explain that method in more detail!
Make a backup of your profile
Locate your game profile inside your Windows User directory.
c:\Users\Autositz\AppData\Roaming\Prime World Defenders\
Where Autositz is your windows user name!

Make a copy of your COMPLETE profile folder. The number displayed is your SteamID64.
If you have more then one profile numbers in there. Make sure you use the correct profile. Sites like SteamRep[www.steamrep.com] can show your ID64 if you use a custom url.
Reset your profile
  • Start the game and go into the options menu.
  • Reset your profile and accept the question with YES that you are sure.
  • Exit the game
Copy profile data
Go to your COPY folder with your old profile data and
select all files EXCEPT "[ID64]Achieves.save"
to copy them into your normal profile folder.
c:\Users\Autositz\AppData\Roaming\Prime World Defenders\76561197960330502 - Copy\ to c:\Users\Autositz\AppData\Roaming\Prime World Defenders\76561197960330502\

You can see the selected files that need to be copied on the LEFT side and the destination folder on the RIGHT side. Overwrite the destination files with your old profile data except the Achievements.
Unlock your Achievements
  • Start the game and select to use LOCAL profile on the question window that pops up.

  • Start a map and it should show the achievements as NOT unlocked now.

  • After playing the map and unlocking the achievement via gameplay the achievement should also trigger for Steam too.

  • You can also try to take the other way as lined out in the last section of this guide.
Restoring your profile
  • Go to the game profile folder c:\Users\Autositz\AppData\Roaming\Prime World Defenders\ and delete your profile.
  • Rename the COPY of your profile by deleting " - Copy" from the folder name.
  • Start the game and AGAIN select to use LOCAL profile when the question pops up.

You now have your original profile with your stats and achievements back in play.
Without launching a mission
As Ren pointed out in the comments below, it seems to be possible to unlock achievements by going through the steps as I lined them out up to the point where you launch a mission.
From that point you take a detour by not launching the mission but going into achievements to confirm that all are locked.
Close the game afterwards and also copy the achievements file you have not copied earlier back from your BACKUP into your ACTUAL profile.
Launch the game again and go into achievements, the missing steam achievements should pop now.

I have not tested nor can I confirm this method but it seems to have worked for Ren.

I've updated the Unlock section and added the solution you posted. Sorry for my fault. I have read through your post a couple of times and was totally sure and therefor confused why you post the same that's in the guide. :D

Glad we got there in the end :8bitheart:

HA! I found the problem here!

We both were talking about different things. We both were right and wrong. -.-

What i did overlook was this last part "all of them should be locked":
"
- you might want to check achievements status, all of them should be locked
- quit the game then copy back your backuped achieves file too into roaming
- start the game and open achievements
"

Now I got the point, the thing is not about the achievement file not being copied ever, it's about having the game launched without it and then launched again with it.

Thanks a lot!
I will add this info the guide.

And the funny thing is, i was originally posting to help others save time in the future, yet you've gotten salty about it, as if i was trying to point out a flaw in your guide. I was simply showing that with one other step, you can save some time.

You even admitted it early on in the conversation, i really don't understand what you've deluded to trying to act like i'm mistaken about something:

"Well... I can see it right over there, that it's exactly the same, with that one exception of not replaying a mission to trigger but it instant triggers. This could be due to a change in the game since my guide was published in Jan 2014."

It is clear you just can't accept that maybe, just maybe, someone came up with a way to make the process more efficient.

Please read and learn. -.- Thanks for your assistance on this matter.

Why do you keep highlighting what i am telling you is the difference?

Yes, it both version say to copy files except the achievements file, but what i am trying to tell you is, that if you load the game after that step, then quit, then copy the achievements file, it will automatically unlock all achievements you should have already had in an instance. This is better than replaying the levels again...

Stop trying to prove you point with something i have agreed with, you are arguing to yourself and just not seeing what i am trying to point out to you - it's pathetic

Seriously Ren.. it makes me sad. :(

Last time i post it right for your eyes which you deny.. like others deny other things.. :(

Last time i'm typing this for you because you seem dense and are being pretty rude about it too.

Your guide, says NOTHING about moving the achievement file.

The instructions i am referring to DOES TELL YOU TO MOVE THE ACHIEVEMENT FILE INTO ROAMING:

"- quit the game then copy back your backuped achieves file too into roaming"

That is the difference. You are arguing and telling me to read clearly when it is you who is mistaken.

So ye, no harm done.
