So... awfully amazing?

it's amazing, we're still playing it almost 20 years on... or over 35 years if you played the original versions. animations get a bit repetitive but its worth it

Truly amazing, but flawed in some aspects and most of all in dire need of a remaster.

I'm still convinced its the best pirate game out there. Maybe there is a really good indi game somewhere but this is so special.

Just love this game. Had it on my Amiga 2000 computer back in the day. On the Amiga version you could depart from the main fleet with another ship like a sloop and complete nearby tasks, like pick up a pirate treasure quickly, etc etc. An awesome game for its day and still the best damn pirate game around today. Correct me if I'm wrong and I'll check that game out, if I haven't already done so. I totally agree with Titus Gallus' comment below- that new pirate game developers should learn from Sid Meiers' Pirates game.

Great Game just old. New games could learn from this.

Started on the C64 in 1987, aged 12. now 47 years old and still playing it.(mostly on the C64)

Played it ever since I owned it on Atari ST, and I was forever jealous that the graphics were better on my mate's Amiga!

Considering the game is from 2005 and it's still better than many new RPGs I would say not awesome but legendary especially for its time.
