How to use the Radio master TX16S with DRL
By TheSpoon
Theres a well known issue where to TX16S doesnt get seen as a joystick.

This due to the fact its seen as a better USB lishub device

To fix this do the following:

Go to device manager by wither searching it in the bottom left or press WIN+X (windows 10 only)
then select `device manager`

Then find the TX16S in the better USB category or wherever it appears,

Next, right click the device and select update drivers

then browse for drivers

and then select usb input device

Hopefully this fixes your issues and you should be able to do a quick calibrate and get flying.

For those who are trying to use their transmitters and can't via regular USB connection to the computer. I use VJOY serial feeder. I just plug into my flight controller, switch on my radio and connect the serial feeder to my fc and now you have a way to use your transmitter with a simulator.

the usb dongle is nice- I prefer a cable though, it keeps my radio charged - even if the jumper t16 doesn't have good, or any balancing capabilities.

FrSky sells a USB dongle that works great with my TX16S. No wires between the radio and the USB receiver. Binds with FrSkyX2 - D16.

Did that. Still had issues.
I still believe I found the best solution (for me). The dongle may cost you, but not having to use any wire or cables is preferable to me. It's a radio!
Besides there is an admitted bias on the developer's part to support Frsky radios.

Thats probably due to your switches not being set in the Input/Mixes page

Yes you need to do it

I had issues mapping the Reset and Restart switches with a USB cable. I could not get DRL Sim to recognize anything. Had no problem with the Frsky dongle though.

just set up betaflight simulator. Josh Bardwell did a video on this. I have my eachine 119 hooked up to betaflight, no battery connected and it just works perfect... EASY!!!!. I can link the vid if anyone cares but if you are using a Radiomaster tx16s I don't think there is an easier way.

Since the TX16S supports Frsky, I highly recommend the "FrSky Compact XSR-SIM USB Dongle" It appears to DRLSim as an actual Taranis and works very well.
