Mod Mismatch Work Around For Conan Exiles
By Bud
This is a guide for Conan Exiles that aims to help you establish a mod list on your local machine that corresponds with the current dedicated server you are playing on. It will create a file on your PC that is the same as the last connected to hosted server, eliminating Mod Mismatch errors.

Introduction
Hello Exiles! I included a detailed step-by-step set of instructions for you to follow if that is the most effective way for you to process information. I realized that this guide may be over kill for what you actually need to do, so I am also including this 2:40 second You Tube video that summarized this guide nicely.

I hope this helps you eliminate your mod mismatch errors.

Step 1: Configuring Your Client Window
This section is optional, but I have found it helpful for stopping the client from running the cinematic unnecessarily after making the changes I am about to describe. If stopping the client from running through the long movie is not a problem and you do not have to Ctrl+alt+delete to stop it like I do, then you may skip this step. Also, it can be easily changed back to your preference after you complete mod-list set-up.

Step 2: Configuring Your Client Settings
This is a useful step to prevent your client from continually updating mods automatically and then restarting your local client. It is also helpful if your server admin has not updated, or in many cases the server host has not received the updated content yet. If this is configured to automatically update, you may be locked out of your server if Steam has updated your client but the server has not been updated. Make sure both boxes are not checked.

Step 3: Fetching the Server Mod List
Start Conan Exiles like you normally would now. Search for your server in the Funcom Live server selection menu. Connect to your server. If you do not have the correct mod order you will get a "Mod Mismatch" error and it will return a screen that looks like this below. Click the CANCEL button. Another reason why I have found to run the client in a Bordered Window for these set-up steps only is because sometimes the full-screen setting blocks or causes the client to be unresponsive in this stage.

A list was created that we will go to now that contains the mod information for the server you are trying to connect to, let's see where that is and what we can do with it now.

Step 4: Finding the Server Mod List
Now that your client has closed, you should be back to your Steam game Library. Find Conan Exiles (wherever you have organized it) and Right Click on the text or icon if you have icons visible.

You will get a pop-up list with some options, select "Properties" from the list.

After you do so you will see a box with some options for Conan Exiles. On the left side of this box you will see a section named "LOCAL FILES" click on that. This will be the installation location for your Conan Exiles game that contains the file we are after. Now, click on the box (button) named "Browse..."

This should take you to a folder structure similar to [...Steam>steamapps>common>Conan Exiles]

You want to open the folder named "ConanSandbox"

In that folder you will see a text file named "servermodlist.txt"
Open that file.

Step 5: Editing the servermodlist.txt
Now that you have opened the servermodlist.txt you should see the mods used on the server you tried to connect to earlier that returned a Mod Mismatch error screen. The title of the mods in this text document may look different than the Steam Workshop name of the mod. The reason for this is because these are the file names the mod developer has used when they uploaded the file to the Steam Server. The title used in the Workshop description may have been used for descriptive purposes rather than versioning.

On the top menu (or however you chose to copy the contents) select Edit>select all>copy

Now the list of mods is on your clip-board. You can close this file without saving it, nothing has changed, you just copied it!

Now open the folder "Mods" it should be in this location: ...Steam>steamapps>common>Conan Exiles> ConanSandbox>Mods>modlist.txt

Open the file named "modlist.txt"

Edit>Select all>press backspace or delete; the contents will be gone.
Now paste the contents of your clipboard there, Ctrl+V or Edit>paste

You now have a replica of the mod list of the last dedicated server you attempted to connect to on your local machine. This is the list that the host will check to see if you have in order or not.

Save the file "modlist.txt"

Close the file browser and launch your game. Please note if you play on different dedicated servers this may not be the best method for you. I am a server admin and play on mostly my own servers so this works for me.

Be sure to go into settings again and make your game window the desired view you prefer.
