TB Weapon Switch Free

Description
Makes switching weapons in turn-based mode a free action with an accuracy penalty.

Will only be applied to characters when they join or rejoin the party. Player character will only get it when starting a new game or when retraining.

Specifics:
When in turn-based mode, all characters except Black Jacket Fighters are autogranted the passive ability "Tactical Weapon Switch" at character creation (or, in the case of companions, when you first meet them). This ability makes weapon switching a free action, and gives you an Accuracy penalty. If you switch again in the same turn, the duration is increased.
Penalty: -20 Accuracy, additional -2 per level. So at level 1 switching weapons gives you -20 Accuracy, at level 2 it gives you -22, at level 3 it gives you -24, etc.
Duration: One round for each time you switch.
Note that due to how turn-based mode translates time into turns and rounds, the effect will actually be present for 2 rounds- the round when you switch weapons and trigger the effect, and the round after. That struck me as a little too punishing for what I wanted, so I've also set the effect to clear if you score a graze, hit or crit.

Quick Switch talent now ameliorates this accuracy penalty to -10, increased by 1 every level.

Black Jacket subclass: No change from base game.

I wanted weapon switching to be a bit more of an option (taking up a full turn is very limiting) but also still be a bit punishing so you have to really want to use it. I haven't tested this extensively yet so I may modify the accuracy penalty depending on how it feels, but the current numbers seem like an OK balance of giving you a real risk of missing vs not being a complete turn-off. Also considering other penalties instead/in addition, such as lowering defenses, or just straight-up giving you the Distracted affliction. Lemme know what you think if you try this.

Seems uncouth to bring this up in 2023 but the mod doesn't seem to work for me

it'll also get applied if you retrain your character, though if you're high level I know that can be tedious. I'm afraid I don't know of a way to autoapply it other than that.

To-do now that I've played more extensively with this mod: 1) make it combat-only (the number of times I've switched weapons right before a fight and started out with rock-bottom accuracy!) 2) remove duration stacking (unnecessarily punishes characters who have 3 or 4 weapons sets) 3) can't make it not apply to summoned weapons, but should attach a bonus when a character summons a weapon to cancel it out.

Easy to do a version with no penalties, when I have a sec. If you download the nexus version you can open the mod file in a text editor and get rid of the penalty pretty easily that way!

This works very well .Is it possible to have a version that doesn't have any penalties?

I really like this mod, but if you could change so summon weapon spells didn't get the penalty that would be rad :)
