Have you thought the Avengers menus were quite dry? Ever imagined hearing AC/DC blasting out across the Avengers? Maybe some Guns N Roses or some Rage Against the Machine? Maybe some Michael Jackson instead? Now you can!

I built this mod for myself to add something I felt was missing to the game and realised it added a lot of emotion after a mission, it adds a lot of humanity to the Avengers crew and your troops, particularly after one that went wrong. After a year of toying with it, I've decided to release it.

I like to imagine it as the aliens banned all known music and introduced their own, but there's a Resistance Radio out there who's fighting the good fight with a radio station people can tune into. There's a consequence to listening to this kind of music if the aliens find out, but when you hear "Killing in the Name of" it all feels worth it.

I'm aware not all music will cater to your tastes. Therefore, I've made it rather customisable! But, you're going to have to do a little leg work on your part.

Each cue is about 20 songs in the order you see in the playlists:

Note: Every single track has been modified to sound like it's coming from a speaker system. You cannot change this unless you have your own wav files to replace mine, but it also requires learning how to edit upk files!

If you do swap out the songs in the upk for your own tracks, I'd suggest adding a reverb effect to the tracks, using Audacity or something, so that it sounds like it's coming from the Avenger speaker system in game:

### What you can do:

Add your own music, but you'll have to learn how to use the editor:

By the end of the dreadful set-up process, you'll be able to edit any of the main upk's and add your own tracks.

Modify the "XComStrategySound.ini" to create a playlist out of the songs that are already in the pack.

You can also modify the sound cues to add your own tracks.

You can also create your own sound cues, add the upk to the content folder and then ask the ini to look for the cue path. With this method, you are essentially creating an add-on for the mod.


### Will this work on the vanilla version?

I don't see why not...


### What if I don't want a specific genre?

If you want to remove a particular genre, you're going to have to comment it out ";" or remove the line in the file below:

config > XComStrategySound.ini

You can comment things out like this:

### CAN I USE THIS FOR MISSIONS!?!?

You can and it works... weird things may happen though...

You'll have to do some leg work in understanding how the ini functions:

The two ini files below has the base there for you to play with:

XComTacticalSound.ini

XComStrategySound.ini.

You just need to remove the ";" to activate the music for those bits.

### BUILDING A CUSTOM PLAYLIST

This is not a short process and all instructions are detailed in the "READ ME", so please read it!

NOTE: THIS WILL TAKE EFFORT AND PATIENCE!!!!

IF YOU WANT THIS TO HAPPEN IN MISSIONS TOO. YOU WILL HAVE TO EDIT "XComTacticalSound.ini" TOO, BUT THE BEHAVIOUR MAY BE UNPREDICTABLE. I HAVE NOT FULLY TESTED!
