underhand throwing a grenade in the earlier elevator shaft also works well.

you dont need this mission to do it , just tose your grenade up during a horde attack an you will get it

PRO TIP:

If you just tap the left mouse button as opposed to holding it, the fuse is shorter. Look all the way up and toss in open spaces.

Was told this and got it first try on the bridge in the assassination mission.

The thing is - fuse timer on grenade depends on how long it's in your hand. Swaping to grenade and instantly chucking it with m1 spam at ~45-55° results in slightly above enemy head air explosion with short horisontal travel length. The only thing you really need is some obstacle free vertical space. It's even doable in Psykhanium if you want to practice.

The start of the assassination mission is the best for it. Normally a few weak packs on the long bridge that you can use.

Just got it myself thanks to this. Make sure you're far back, close to where you drop the containers, and aim high. I recommend throwing a test grenade or two to make sure you're going to detonate right above the ground before a group of enemies comes marching out of the doorway.
