Description

The long awaited, highly anticipated return of the original Peter Parker face from Spider-Man PS4 is now back but this time for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales! You can now play as John Bubniak in Spider-Man on PC if you'd like! For those who aren't aware, back when Marvel's Spider-Man released in 2018, the character model that was used initially was changed for the 2019 PS5 Remaster of Marvel's Spider-Man to match the facial features of Ben Jordan as opposed to John Bubniak so that he could be more expressive. This was a controversial change at the time due to the fact that a lot of people felt like he was a great fit for the role... if he was playing a younger, less-experienced Spider-Man. His looks were compared to Tom Holland's Spider-Man who played a much younger iteration of the character and was  the complete opposite of  the more seasoned Spider-Man we ended up seeing in Marvel's Spider-Man. Overall, while the new model has grown on me,  I still love this model a lot more since his older, more stressed out looking face fits the game perfectly and  because the connection I've already built with this model back in the original game, especially during the more emotional scenes, are unforgettable! However, I think that in Miles Morales, since this is a case where the old face replaces the new one, I think that it's a little more awkward since it has the opposite effect where the cutscenes don't seem right without the face I played through the game with first. Maybe with some more refinements, this could be my new favorite version and even take over Spider-Man 2 Peter's Face on PC!

NOTE: Although the thumbnail contains a PS5 logo, footage for both John Bubniak and Ben Jordan's faces were recorded on the exact same PC setup and settings.

The Modded version looks a lot like they wanted to resemble John Bubniak to Andrew Garfield. My PC version also shows the same face as the PS5. Still a great game play.

I KNEW HIS FACE LOOKED DIFFERENT

I played the game in it's entirety on PS4 when it first released, and when I booted it up on PC for the first time in years I kept thinking, "This is not the face I remember," and just kept questioning my memory and chalked it up to it being years since I played it. What a weird change to implement so long after the original release.
