For The Love Of Books #1

For the Love of Books was created in February 2023 while playfully experimenting with Midjourney. The result was a young librarian in the style of Franco-Belgian Comics. At that time, the game Treasure of Nadia was still fresh in my mind and the fictional character of Diana Dimitriadis forced her way into the prompts I was feeding Midjourney. So I named the picture in the subtitle: Before Diana became a treasure hunter, she was a bookworm.

The love of books is a matter of the heart for me; I spent more time in dusty used bookstores than on the playground in my early youth, and the heroes of my teenage years were novel characters like Tarzan, John Carter, and Doc Savage. For the Love of Books is also a section I use to designate images that can be associated with novel characters.

This image was one of my earliest Midjourney creations, and was predestined for animation on the Steam profile in terms of shape and design. Snaws did a fantastic job. The way he captured the essence of the girl is brilliant. And how the spirit of the books can displace the dark shadows inside us was congenially realized by him with the ethereal light and the black color on the edges.
