Crafting and refining stations in Nightingale can be modified by other decoration pieces you place around them. These decoration pieces are reference din game as an augment. Unfortunately the crafting stations have a limited number of slots available and there are more augments in the game than you have augment slots for on some crafting stations.

The augments can only affect workstations within it's range AND line of sight so having more walls throughout your base is not a bad thing.

As of right now, each crafting station comes in 3 tiers with more augment slots available on the higher tiers. Each workbench appears to have a different number of augment slots even within the same tier

• Simple - 2-5 Augments
  
• Refined - 6-8 Augments
  
• Excellent - 6-9 Augments

The augments in effect are your workstation recipe unlocks for the most part. In a few cases however, they actually work to boost the workstation or even add extra stats/traits to crafted gear or food!

Many augments have overlapping things that they provide so it can be disadvantageous to have multiple augments that give the same recipe/trait bonus.

Note: there are a few more augments available in the game but I havn't gotten up to the point to test them yet.

Assuming you are using T3/excellent workbenches, the list below would be the augments you would need to get all the passive benefits available with the number of spare augment slots remaining that you can use to slot in additional crafting recipes.

1/8 augmentation slots used.

1/9 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

1/9 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

2/8 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

2/6 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

2/9 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

4/9 augmentation slots used.

2/9 augmentation slots used. The cooking knife seems to provide two different traits for one single augment slot so that is a big win.

1/9 augmentation slots used. Remaining slots are unused.

3/8 augmentation slots used. This workstation has by far the most possible augmentations that could be applied to it so there is no way you can fit everything into this one bench. You would either need to have multiple workbenches set up all over the place or just have a room for augments and pull in what you need when you need it.

This section focuses on the the augments available for each workstation. Like the other sections, all items marked with an * are post-story augments.

The recipes that augments enable will only become available once you have acquired the knowledge to craft the item. Having the augment alone is not enough. To save on having redundant information, the list of items in each recipe category was not expanded on above but instead is attached as an additional table.

• Was not able to find the magic lens needed to craft the Sanctuary Focus so that augment hasn't been included in the list. Found magic lens with the advice from NopiSoul (thank you!). Unfortunately, seems it doesn't provide any benefit at the moment.
