As you know this game was released to Steam as a "safer" version of the original game.
Unfortunately... by doing so, the dev has to CUT A LOT OF CONTENT in order to make the game much safer.
This cut of content result in ridiculous amount of scripted event being cut as well...

So, by making the game safer, the dev accidentally make the game become somewhat ridiculously unplayable...
That's why you need the patch, so you can unlock those "missing" scripted event that got removed from making the game safer.
