Instead of racking up a ton of skulls to build a staircase, I found that you can just use some well placed bubbles to get the upgrade.

I swear I tried to make this known as soon as I could. And I kinda feel your pain, but in a different way. As you can see, at some point I managed to die just once, locking myself out of the bottom chest.

Oh well. Always another playthrough down the road to get it.

Goddamit you're telling this after I killed myself 50 times just to get up there? Now I can't even get the bottom chest 🧰 😭

This is possible but difficult to pull off especially on the Steam Deck.
