Instead of racking up a ton of skulls to build a staircase, I found that you can just use some well placed bubbles to get the upgrade.

I've been told what it is once, and if true, you're not missing out on much. But yes, it is the prize for getting there with no deaths at all.

I swear I tried to make this known as soon as I could. And I kinda feel your pain, but in a different way. As you can see, at some point I managed to die just once, locking myself out of the bottom chest.

Oh well. Always another playthrough down the road to get it.

This is possible but difficult to pull off especially on the Steam Deck.
