I enjoy helping others and wanted to also preserve the key findings before they are forgotten. Also, other guides do not seem to have the same high standards as mine and are missing key details in having successful runs.

The guide is for everyone, but much more friendlier to new players. Everything will be explained to be on the same level as those who are the most experienced. The writing will be easy to follow with plenty of screenshots for those who are too lazy to read everything!

This Council mission will be easier due to more class-specific abilities.

The reward will always be a scientist and recommended to roll for at least 100 Intel.
The preferred type of mission is an Advent Vehicle or Cell for more bonuses!
Extraction missions deny starting squad concealment and additional hacking reward.

The research must be switched temporarily to Magnetic Weapons in case the reward expedites it.
If another is found, Magnetic Weapons can be researched after Resist Comms.

The mission will always have 3-4 pods in total, including the reinforcements called in.

Time: 6 pm March 13 (Advent Cell)

Time: 11 pm March 13 (Advent Vehicle)

The Ranger can now provide intelligence with concealed scouting even after first engagement.
The caveat is that the squad will be fighting with one less soldier until the Ranger joins for the last two battles.

Note: The Ranger can break concealment to fight the last active pod before the Reinforcement Drop.

Any Corporal on this mission should score at least one kill from each pod.
The Ranger will have a better chance of a faster promotion when using either the shotgun or the sword for an instant kill!

The first objective is to scan surroundings for buildings that can serve as a Sniper's nest.
The setup needs to account for the direction of the main objective, especially in an urban area where multiple buildings can block line of fire.

The same rules of engagement still applies here with preferring a full 3-enemy pod to attack. However, the mission timer severely restricts ambush options and best to attack the enemy during first encounter.

The entire squad except the Ranger will be on Overwatch and the Sniper will initiate.
The desired ambush positions should have partial cover as only 3 soldiers will be fighting them.

The Sniper's long-range fire attracts the enemy to position themselves closer to the initiator.
The higher HP enemy will be the preferred target if the pod size is only 2 to maximize damage.
A full pod will require one of the Troopers to be taken out to reduce chance of return enemy fire.

Note: The long-range grenade launcher must be used if the first pod has 3 enemies but can only work when concealed.

There will be no more surprise engagements as the concealed Ranger can safely locate them!
The roof needs to be explored first if the main objective is inside a building.

Note: The Ranger can engage the last standing pod before the reinforcement drop arrives.

The Sniper should target the Trooper if the enemy pod is a full 3 but only with good hit chances.
The Ranger can also shoot first and preferably higher HP target with the flanked bonus damage.

Note: The rest of the squad must not be on Overwatch and wait for them to be lured in first to attack on their blue moves.

The Specialist must hack the door due to tech score and can do so from afar with the Gremlin.
Tier 1 rewards are sometimes more valuable than the next tier when the latter is usually better.
The higher tier reward is obtainable through RNG as a different result is produced every other turn or change in order of actions.

A third pod may or may not exist in the unexplored area around the extraction zone.
The closed door of either the vehicle or the cell will keep the VIP inside and not trigger a reinforcement drop yet.

The green glowing barrels are explosive and will take the entire wall down if set off.

The new exit provides a more direct escape path and expands space for covering fire.

Note: An unknown 3rd pod can also be triggered accidently if it exists on the current mission.

The remaining soldiers must be on Overwatch in the event of another enemy contact.
The Sniper will reposition to provide better covering fire and getting closer to extraction zone.
The usual engagement protocol is used without the scouting advantage.

The cell door can now be opened if scouting for potential enemy pods did not yield any results.
The new exit will considerably shorten the traveling distance and allow extraction on the next turn.

A red flare will spawn randomly near the extraction zone on the next turn after the VIP is freed.
The delayed VIP rescue gives an entire turn to position the entire squad for another brutal ambush!

A full enemy pod will land at that location and a full squad Overwatch is needed.
The entire squad will be attacking once they land without taking any return fire.

The surviving enemy will be wiped out the next turn if any remains.

The first Scientist will now join the ranks to permanently accelerate all research!
The combined rewards will reduce Magnetic Weapons Research to now only 11 days from 32!
The Resist Comms should be researched first to begin increasing early monthly income.

The same early goal remains to keep soldiers healthy to achieve rapid promotion for more abilities and earlier squad size increase.

In a few days, the GTS will be finished to begin training a second Grenadier and save the supplies to purchase another Scientist/Engineer at the Resistance HQ after the Supply Drop.
