Colleville Assault - Iron Front Arma 3 - SP/Coop 45

Platoon level combined arms mission, your duty is to take the strategical town of Colleville.

Playable units:

4 infantry squads
1 Sherman
1 P-47
1 mortar

High command module RTS style available too to control the AI


I really recommend you to play this mission at a difficulty level of not below veteran, otherwise all the orienting part and realistic features will be missing, making the mission too easy and ruining the atmosphere of costant peril that real soldiers faced back in WWII.

I made this about 10 years ago to play solo or with a few friends; initially, it wasn’t even meant to go public.

Unfortunately, I've been too busy with work and haven't played Arma in years.

I'm not sure if it’s possible, but feel free to take the mission and update it if you’d like.

Amazing game—hopefully, I'll be back for Arma IV!

that being said,
some suggestions for improvement (if relevant):
1. it would add a fair degree of realism if the german units were more mobile, e.g., patrolling the village, changing positions, etc.
2. some basic randomization of initial german positions would add a great deal of replay-ability, and that would be nice because it IS a mission you want to play again and again
3. the Sherman tank is a bit too much of a game-changer and with a little bit of luck can win almost the entire battle all by itself with minimal infantry support. maybe giving the germans more AT weapons will balance this issue
4. wouldn't mind a basic briefing and some context too. apparently, not too much is known about the actual historical assault on Colleville, but one thing is for sure - it happened in the late afternoon hours of June 6 (the day of the invasion), not in the morning as the mission settings suggests.

what a great mission! so tactic and thought-through. nice work
i loved that the entire platoon is playable, it makes the mission much friendlier for a singleass player like myself by allowing to play continuously without saves - major immersion factor.

I use c2 command Module mod to control units better, works for high command as well..it's great.

Этот пример наглядно показывает, что для классной, интересной миссии не нужно изобретать велосипед, нарезать из видео куски, озвучивать через дешёвый микрофон дурным голосом свои миссии по ночам, пока мамка не слышит, или наворачивать горы глючных скриптов. Всё уже есть, достаточно уделить время, и, имея понимание, грамотно распределить имеющееся. На данный момент одна из самых интересный миссий для IFA3.

If you're doing SP stryle how do you control the mortors? I can use the high command to control the four additrional units but not sure how I can order the mortor or the plane to attack a target...any help is appriciated.

By the way - High Command on my settings is CTRL-SPACE...not SHIFT-SPACE...I guess its settable and depends on how you've setup ARMA3
