I just wanna point out to any of those with the kagrenac fortress(I'm not sure of it's exact name I have lots of mods) The glacier will block the corpse with the ring. So if you have both mods installed just use the console command to get the ring.

The performance impact would be very slim, and that's only on a lower end pc.

Do you know if this mod affects performance in any way?

The original one looks like more realistic glacier to be honest
