New method, separate client added to Steam
This guide is now irrelevant for Miscreated but will be left for reference.

There is now a different client available to all owners of Miscreated in your Steam library for the experimental branch. That way you no longer have to redownload the game each time you switch.
Disclaimer
Any Experimental build can, and will most likely, be unstable. Expect crashes, freezes, or other oddities to occur during gameplay. We ask that you please report any issues you come across so that we can fix them. This is the main reason for the experimental build, to test. If the idea of an unstable game worries you, then you may not want to switch to the experimental version.

Download Warning
You will have to redownload each build when you switch versions! If you have limited bandwidth, this is very important to note. Each time you switch, you will have to redownload almost the entire game.
How to Switch
Go to your Steam Library.

Find Miscreated and right click on it.

Select Properties.

Go to the Betas tab.

You will see a drop down box labeled, “Select the beta you would like to opt into:"

Click the drop down arrow and select, “Experimental”

Click “Close” on the bottom right of the window.

Miscreated should begin downloading the build.

To change back follow the same steps, but for the opt in box select “NONE”.

Yeah I've been on experimental for a week or so. This is where I've experienced all the ocean spawns.
Hope it works for some. GL

With a bit of jiggery pokery if you're feeling brave and at your own risk you can have both the standard and experimental versions if you have the hard drive space. I basically copied my Steam\SteamApps\common\Miscreated folder ti Miscreatedbk before opting into the beta this then downloaded the beta into the original Miscreated folder. All you need to do then is rename the folder of the version you want to run as Miscreated and the one you don't to something else Miscreatedbk for example. Steam just cares about the exe in the folder called Miscreated. Hope that makes sense :)
