Cossacks 3 all nations and their benefits.

The Developers of Cossacks 3 told us to check out their old cossacks nation website[users.telenet.be] because the infos are mostly still correct and similar to cossacks 3. A lot of people asked me ingame about the differences between the nations. Now I used the offical stats and deleted/edit some wrong infos. If you think some stats are still wrong: Help me to improve the list and write it in the comments.

Algeria
Rather extensive list of strengths and weaknesses. The Mameluk is an exceptional light cavalry unit, and the Xebec an exceptional naval unit. With its cheap farming upgrades and infamous 0pt archer flood, Algeria is better at low peacetime games with low resource settings. Expensive stables and no 18thc upgrade limit Algeria to a short game.

Austria
17thc muskets strong, but slow to produce. Two unique units, the Roundshier and the Croat make Austria an interesting choice for low peacetime games. Otherwise, a well balanced choice for any peacetime setting.


Strengths

Peasants have 100% more hitpoints.
Roundshiers have 81% more hitpoints than Light Infantrymen, attack 8% faster, defense upgrades cost 28% less, wear upgradeable armor (very nice protection vs sword, shot and grapeshot).
17thc Musketeers have 10% more hitpoints, have +1 attack, minrange 350 (13% closer), maxrange 850 (6% farther), wear armor.
Hussars (Croats) cost 31% less, attack upgrades cost 35% less, defense upgrades cost 40% less.
Shipyard repair ship-of-the-line upgrade costs 76% less.
Town Hall builds 70% faster.
18thc Barracks can be built up to 23% faster with maximum peasants.

Weaknesses

Roundshiers train 150% slower than Light Infantrymen, attack upgrades cost 15% more.
17thc Musketeers cost 13% more, train 50% slower, armor cannot be upgraded.
Hussars (Croats) train 32% slower, have -2 attack, maximum attack upgrade 15% lower (-3), maximum defense upgrade 7% lower (-1).
Bavaria
Strong 18thc musketeer, but slow to train and slow to fire. Cheap early upgrades for the heavy rider and hussar. Expensive first attack and defense upgrades render pikemen weak vs early rushes. Cheap 18th, expensive stables (and no fast-training light cav). With its limited cav support, Bavaria is generally too weak for any but the longest peacetimes (60+ minutes).

Well balanced for middle peacetime settings (30+ pt), popular choice for long PT games or 'million' resource games.

Cuirassiers final attack upgrade nets an extra attack point, first 3 attack upgrades cost 17% less, total attack upgrades cost 6% less, first 3 defense upgrades cost 23% less.
18thc Pikemen total defense upgrades cost 12% less, defense upgrades are better organized to make them stronger earlier.
17thc Pikemen 3rd attack upgrade carries +1 defense point, ignoring the last attack upgrade (only gives +1) saves 47% on the total attack training cost.

Hussars (Mounted Pandurs) cost 31% less, have 28% more hitpoints (The Mounted Pandur is basically just a Croat with more hitpoints and Hussar-level upgrades).
Shipyard repair ship-of-the-line upgrade costs 76% less.
18thc Barracks can be built up to 11% faster with maximum peasants.

Unique Musketeers (Pandurs) cost 103% more than the Austrian Pandur, each shot requires +2 iron and coal (200% more), maxrange 800 (6% shorter).
Hussars (Kuruces) cost 82% more, train 32% slower, have -1 attack.

Netherlands
Strong 17thc musketeer with fastest fire rate in the game. Cheap early upgrades for 17thc pikemen, 18thc musketeers, cuirassiers. Well balanced for any peacetime setting.

This means many houses are needed (lots of micromanagement), and peasants spend comparatively more time building -- less time gathering resources.

Cheap early upgrades for the heavy rider and 18thc pikeman. Cav guards train exceptionally fast. The Saxon grenadier is the best in the game. Well balanced, good choice for mid-to-long peacetime settings.

Houses have 5% more hitpoints.
Storehouses cost more stone than wood (stone is gathered faster than wood, so Spanish storehouses are a little cheaper).
Town Halls have 5% more hitpoints.


Weaknesses

17thc Musketeers train 40% slower.
Shipyard repair ship-of-the-line upgrade costs 76% more.

Sweden
Cheap 17thc musketeer upgrades, cheap early upgrades for the 17thc pikeman, cuirassier and hussar. Heavy riders train faster. Interesting nation, well balanced for any peacetime setting.

Expensive stables and no 18thc upgrade limit Turkey to a short game.

17thc Officers (Hetmen) ride a horse, have 200% more hitpoints, have +150 attack.

I justed tested the Bavarian "Peasants have 100% more hitpoints." and found that they have 50hp like every other nation I tested

It's up to date but just till 26.2 the balancing patches are NOT updated.
:( Game is a little bit uninteresting since they started to destroy the ranking.

Hi! I know you said you didn't check the naval units and upgrades, but if I tell you what has changed, you are interested in updating it, right?
I think the most important things to mention are the very units. I've just checked them ingame. So:
- Algeria has no Yacht
- Ukraine: "no navy except frigate" -> they actually have fishing boat, ferry, galley, no frigate no ship of the line. Instead of the yacht they have a Chaika, a yacht that can fire from front and rear.
- Venice: in Cossacks 3 they have no Galleasse... just regular galleys.

i guess that's why naval games are not really interesting at the moment and developers are planning a rebalance of naval stuff ;)
