What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“IdleTale has a lot of long-term goals, and we want to achieve each of them. By releasing an Early Access we open the possibility for users to give feedback, request their biggest desires and help us create what we want: a long, enjoyable incremental game.
Early Access allows the development team to receive feedback and keep changing or adding things as the game continues to evolve, dynamically contributing in a good way to provide the best final product that we, as a community, can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There's no exact known duration for the Early Access. However, it's planned to last around 1 year before fully launching in 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on implementing a lot more content in the full version, such as new Quests, new Raids, new Upgrades, new Items, new Achievements, new player progression items...
And one of the differences we plan on having between the Early Access version and the full version is a new level of progression we called the "Redemption" system.
That's only in our heads at the moment, and it's too soon to spoil anything!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“As of now, IdleTale offers over several weeks of content, featuring over 400 items to collect, over 250 achievements to unlock, 50 total levels, over 30 different dungeons (counting Normal and Deadly modes) and a lot of enemies and maps to discover!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“IdleTale will remain free after launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our community is always giving feedback and we host community contests (such as the first person to defeat a Raid boss or the first person to find an easter egg), being rewarded to create their own items in-game (following our community rules)!
You can provide feedback through our Discord community or through Steam Groups!”

About This Game

Idletale Is An Incremental/clicker Rpg Game.

You'll find yourself in a world where everything can only get bigger - specifically talking about numbers!

Kill enemies to gain Gold, use it to produce even more Gold while you're not playing and complete quests, explore dungeons, collect loot to gear up and improve your character with all the Talent trees and the further Ascension Upgrades!

All of this will only lead to your power skyrocketing like you would never imagine.

Start this journey slowly, and day by day unlock more features until there's nothing left to achieve - or so you'll think. Then you'll reset your progress.

But for good! This will only multiply your next game's numbers and experiences by a LOT! (And unlock even MORE features)

  • The basic mechanic isn't much different from any other incremental game - tap the screen, get resources. Use those resources to buy more resources that will exponentially generate more of that same resource, breaking the barrier of the thousands, millions, billions or quintillions. The way you get resources (in this case, Gold) is by killing monsters. You tap the screen, you land a hit. Enemies have HP, you deal damage. Enough hits, the enemy will die. Then there's a respawn time, which is affected by upgrades too.

  • You can, like in any other incremental game, buy passive income upgrades (a.k.a. gains per second), which will grant you Gold each second, depending on the upgrades you bought and the number you have. There's also the other type of upgrades - the one that boosts everything else, such as "enemies drop more gold", "this thing gives you more gold per second", or "you deal more damage with each attack".

  • Then there's the Skills tab - your character will progress through these. More Strength, more raw damage. There's a number of factors that alter the value of Strength that you will discover along the game. Agility increases your critical strike chance, and Wisdom increases the damage bonus each critical hit benefits from.

  • Then there's the Gear tab. Like in any other RPG, you will loot gear and equip it to benefit from its stats. Mostly addressed towards combat, but remember combat is your main Gold source.

  • There's the Dungeons, which are small instances with a few waves of enemies and then a final boss. Kill the boss, get XP and loot. Ez pz. You won't be able to spam dungeons to level up, as your character will have another resource called "Stamina" and you will run out of it rather quickly. Stamina is also used to travel between places.

  • Codex. Here you'll gather information about all the enemies you come across. You can level those enemies up to make them drop more gold, XP and loot (but they'll also have more HP!).

  • Talents. They will be your bread and butter as you progress through the game. Not only they will look cool and make you feel you're rushing through the content, but also they'll synergize with other features to skyrocket your power. There'll be three different trees.

  • Glory (Ascension). Just like in any Incremental game, there's an Ascension system, which will boost your stats by a LOT and unlock interesting features.

  • Raids. We talked about Dungeons before, and now there's Raids! Some sort of Dungeons but with several floors, way harder and intended for end-game content. Their rewards are stronger than most items, and you can defeat a raid once a day.

  • There's also an Achievements system!
