Chords and Session Players in Logic Pro for Mac
In order to play harmonies, the Keyboard Player and the Bass Player require chords in Logic Pro for Mac. Chords are contained on the global Chord track in the global tracks area and as region chords on Session Player regions. The Keyboard Player and the Bass Player can follow either the Chord track or the region chords. You can add your own chords or choose from a set of chord progressions for the Session Players to follow. All Session Players can follow the rhythm of the chord progression and a specific track.
Note: If no chords exist on the Chord track at the position of the Keyboard Player or Bass Player region, or as region chords on the region, the players play the tonic chord of the project’s key signature.
Session Players and the Chord track
With the Chord track, multiple Session Players can follow the same chords to play in sync harmonically. You can add and edit the chords on the Chord track, and the Session Players’ performances adapt to reflect your changes. You can also group chords together on the Chord track.

Session Players and region chords
Region chords affect only the Session Player for the individual region. When a Session Player region contains chords, by default the player for that region follows those chords. If the Session Player region contains no region chords, by default, the player follows the Chord track. You only see region chords if the Session Player region is set to follow region chords. You edit region chords in the Session Player Editor.
