what a masterpiece album. the artist showcases a wide range of styles - from jazzy, to trip hop, even an oriental excursion - simply put, GODSPEED has all the tools! and let's not even mention the quality of cover art - one of the best there is in the game right now in that regard that, plus a personal note on how I relate to track names after dealing with a painful loss just a day before listening to them - all in all this album hits home with me on all levels

There's some serious dedication to atmosphere in the mastering of this album. Percussion cranked up to high to give emphasis to a sweltering wave of bass hidden underneath, really evoking the whole summer-y feel "A DAY IN THE SHADE" is clearly going for. There's a lot more headstrong attempts at quick, successive DJ style cuts in this one as well, really drawing out the weight of certain bars as they pass on by. Listening to it always makes me look forward to chops like this on a future album.
