Our recent Women Empowerment Project (WEP) Core Training was a success! Many mothers came together to set inspiring goals, learn about children's and labor rights, and gain crucial support to face life’s challenges head-on. Each participant shared how the training equipped them with the tools to develop action plans, focus on family goals, and most importantly, boost their confidence in turning dreams into reality. The Core Training also serves as an entry point to additional training sessions on various topics, helping mothers continue their empowerment journey. 🌧 This week, Chiang Mai has experienced heavy rainfall across five zones, causing floods that have severely impacted some of the communities we work with. Families are struggling with basic costs; some children cannot attend school, and parents are unable to work. Others have had to evacuate their homes. Our Program team is actively delivering essential items like non-perishable food and water to those hardest hit. As the flooding continues, BDF is committed to ensuring that affected families receive the support and resources they need to recover and rebuild their lives. 🌋 Science just got super fun at Tchin Tcho Nursery! At Tchin Tcho Nursery, the Child Development team turned science into an exciting adventure by organizing a volcano eruption activity. Through hands-on experiments with vinegar, baking soda, and clay, children created their own volcanoes and watched them erupt. This experience sparked their curiosity and contributes to their early development. Engaging with science from a young age fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. Mae Pin is a mother of three who began her empowerment journey as a beneficiary of the Women’s Empowerment Project, which she now co-implements with Baan Dek's team. Mae Pin organizes product coordination and sewing training for women in construction camps and marginalized communities. Mae Pin’s journey is an inspiration to us all, demonstrating the power of resilience, social capital, networking, and teamwork. Her patience and dedication leave a lasting impact as she connects with communities on a deeper level, serving as a peer and change-maker in advancing other women’s empowerment.
