Our design for La Gomera pays tribute to the island's rich heritage and untamed beauty, merging luxury with sustainability. Set on dramatic southern cliffs, the resort's 160 low-rise villas offer uninterrupted views of the Atlantic, seamlessly blending architecture with nature. Inspired by La Gomera's volcanic beaches, ancient forests, and towering cliffs, our design blurs the boundaries between the built environment and the rugged terrain. Locally sourced materials, like the striking red Tosca Roja stone and black granite, anchor the villas into the landscape, echoing the island's volcanic origins while ensuring durability and elegance. The natural patterns of the iconic Los Organos cliffs inspire the intricate flooring, allowing the architecture to flow harmoniously with the environment. Traditional craftsmanship is central, with handcrafted wooden pergolas and woven wicker roofs honouring the island's artisanal heritage. Banana plants and succulents provide natural shade and privacy while supporting the landscape's ecological balance. From serene interiors featuring earthy tones and handwoven materials to carefully curated outdoor spaces, every element is designed to offer a luxurious, tranquil retreat that fully immerses guests in La Gomera's raw beauty. This harmony between nature, culture, and architecture transforms the resort into a true sanctuary. The BLINK Unbuilt Series is an opportunity for us to share with you our designs from the drawer. It was an honour to be nominated once again for the prestigious AHEAD Asia Awards, which were held this week and recognise excellence in hospitality experience and design.
