Escorting by M36 Marsun Security/ Patrol Boat - The Third Naval Area Command (3rd NAC) and The-MECC 3 conducted the passage exercise training with the Genting Dream Cruise On October 30th, 2024, the Third Naval Area Command (3rd NAC) and The-MECC 3 conducted the passage exercise training with the Genting Dream Cruise according to the SAR Communications Exercise (SARCOMMEX) (communication training between ships and aircraft) with the Genting. Dream Cruise together with the T.111 M36 Security/ Patrol Gun Boat, Thai-MECC 4005, and S-76B aircraft without impacting Genting Dream's operations. This training program is essential for elevating maritime safety and instilling confidence among operators of large passenger ships and international cruises. By rigorously adhering to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), we guarantee that Search and Rescue (SAR) agencies have immediate access to critical plans for frequently visiting vessels. This proactive approach ensures effective collaboration during emergencies. Engaging in these annual drills is non-negotiable; it enhances our preparedness and reaffirms our strong commitment to safety, ultimately making our waters secure for all. Launching Ceremony of Marine Patrol Vessel “Customs 524” into the Water On October 3, 2024, Mr. Thirachai Attanavanich, Director-General of the Customs Department, presided over the launching ceremony of the Marine Patrol Vessel “Customs 524” into the water, along with Mr. Yuthana Poolpipat, Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department, Mr. Niti Witthayatem, Deputy Director-General of the Customs Department, Ms. Atchara Lotinan, Secretary-General of the Department, Mr. Thanakrit Linthong, Director of the Customs Office Region 4, Mr. Phanu Limwongyuti, Chief of the Satun Customs Checkpoint, along with executives of the Customs Department, and Mr. Phattrawin Chongwisan, Chief Executive Officer of Marsan Public Company Limited, along with executives from Marsan Public Company Limited, with Ms. Nanthita Sirikupt, Advisor on Customs Control System Development, Customs Department, as the female who performed the launching ceremony of the marine patrol vessel at the shipyard of Marsan Public Company Limited, Samut Prakan Province. The “Customs 524” marine patrol vessel, 56 feet long and has a speed of more than 35 knots, was designed and built by Marsan Public Company Limited with advanced design and construction technology. The keel-laying ceremony was held on December 7, 2023, and the construction of the vessel has been continued until it is completed. It will be stationed at the Satun Customs Checkpoint, Tambon Tammalang, Mueang District, Satun Province, to patrol and inspect the Andaman Sea area, and perform missions to prevent and suppress illegal activities at sea, such as customs evasion, smuggling of illegal or prohibited goods into or out of the Kingdom, and to support and assist the missions of the National Maritime Interests Coordination Center. Marsan Public Company Limited is a leading shipyard with more than 44 years of experience in ship building. Throughout the past, the company has built and delivered more than 354 ships to government agencies and private companies, both domestically and internationally, such as the Customs Department, the Royal Thai Navy, the Royal Thai Police, the Harbor Department, the Department of Fisheries, and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources. The Pakistan Navy and various private agencies, with important ships including gunboats / high-speed patrol boats / guided-armed patrol boats / oil spill removal ships / crew transport and oil rig services / crew transport ships for offshore windfarms, etc. In the past, the company has been trusted to continue building ships for the Customs Department for more than 27 ships, such as Customs Ships 804, 805, 806, 807 and Customs Ships 1202, etc. The company is honored to work to fulfill the missions and policies of the Customs Department and would like to thank the Customs Department for giving importance to the shipbuilding industry in the country.

The vessel features a narrow turning radius and an immediate stopping system using water jet propulsion to enhance maneuverability and operational efficiency, meeting the standards of Classification Society.
