The Preliminary Programme for the upcoming International Fairtrade Textile Forum has just been published! The event will take place on October 17 in Paris and is co-funded by our SWITCH-Asia Official Project, "Switching to Green & Fair Fashion." I am excited to meet in person with textile supply chain members, ranging from cotton producers and manufacturers to brands. During this event, we aim to discuss the real challenges faced by different actors across the supply chain, from environmental issues related to cotton production to water and energy consumption in textile manufacturing, as well as labor and other concerns affecting workers in the sector. No topic will be off the table; instead, we will seek collaborative solutions to these pressing issues. The SWITCH-Asia Official #SWITCHToSolar project has taken advantage of Cambodia's abundant ☀️ sunshine to boost sustainable small agri-fisheries businesses with solar technology and 💰 green financing. 🚀 IMPACT 👉 https://lnkd.in/gvCD-2m3 ________ - 10 supported solar companies sold 1,123 solar technology products worth over 3 million USD, avoiding 9,327 tons of CO2 emissions. - More than 92% of agri-businesses reduced their operating expenses by 20% after purchasing or switching to solar technology. - 130 jobs (30% held by women) were created and employed in 10 STPs and start-ups. - Successfully mobilized a total financing investment of over USD 1.2 million for the supported solar technology providers and start-ups, with over 50% contributed by external investors.
