James Gunn concludes filming of 'Superman': ‘It Has Been an Honor’

James Gunn, the director of the upcoming ‘Superman’ film, has announced the completion of filming. In a heartfelt social media post, Gunn expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the production, sharing a photo from the first week of shooting in Svalbard, Norway.
Gunn wrote, ‘And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life.’ He went on to thank the team, emphasizing how their dedication and kindness inspired him throughout the process.
Gunn explained that his goal was to create a movie about a good man in a challenging world.He shared how the positive energy and love on set helped him push forward, even when he felt exhausted. ‘Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor,’ he added.
Reflecting on the journey, Gunn mentioned that while the destination was creating "Superman," the real magic lay in the shared experiences, emotions, and ideas on set. He expressed his eternal gratitude for the camaraderie and joy that made the project special.
The new ‘Superman’ film features David Corenswet in the titular role and is set for release on July 11, 2025. The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. Other cast members include Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, and Nathan Fillion.
