The comedy film 'Bad Newz', starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in lead roles, was off to an impressive start at the domestic box office, earning nearly Rs 30 crore in its debut weekend.
In its first two days, 'Bad Newz' garnered a remarkable Rs 18.55 crore nett in India. The film opened with a solid Rs 8.3 crore on its debut day, followed by Rs 10.25 crore on its second day.
Sunday's collections saw a slight increase, with the film earning an estimated Rs 11 crore nett, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.com.

This brings the film's current nett total to approximately Rs 29.55 crore.

'Bad Newz' reported a 28.78% occupancy in Hindi-speaking regions on Sunday, with the evening shows drawing the largest audiences.
Internationally, the film has also performed well, grossing an estimated $1.1 million at the North American box office, and with additional earnings from other markets, the global box office total is expected to surpass Rs 40 crore.

These impressive numbers have allowed 'Bad Newz' to surpass the collections of
Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira', which accumulated around Rs 21.22 crore at the Indian box office by the end of its second weekend.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, the flm is a comedy inspired by true events" focusing on heteropaternal superfecundation, a reproductive phenomenon where twin children have the same mother but different biological fathers.

The film has just one week to continue its box office run before the highly anticipated Marvel superhero movie 'Deadpool and Wolverine' hits theatres next weekend. The third instalment of the franchise is expected to open with $160 million in North America alone, likely unseating 'Inside Out 2' as the biggest opening of the year. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine, the film is set for release on Friday, July 26.
