In 2012, Adil Hussain played Sridevi's husband in the acclaimed film 'English Vinglish'. Adil recently spoke about his daughter Janhvi Kapoor's acting style and how it reflects her late mother’s dedication.
In an interview with DNA, Adil noted that Janhvi's focus, sincerity, and attentiveness on set, qualities he admired in Sridevi. Adil also recalled seeing Janhvi frequently visit the English Vinglish set at age 14, suggesting her dedication to acting is a result of careful observation of her mother’s craft.

In another interview with Hauterrfly, Janhvi fondly reflected on her mother's unique parenting style, which she found both amusing and touching.She revealed that Sridevi was in denial about her daughters growing up and initially believed they didn't need undergarments. Janhvi had to eventually convince her mother that she did need them.

The young actress also shared how her father, Boney Kapoor, was a crucial support for her mother. She recounted how Sridevi had initially stepped away from her career after having Janhvi, feeling she had worked enough. Boney, however, encouraged her to return to work, assuring her that he would handle family responsibilities, including school schedules and vacations. He was supportive and did not impose traditional expectations, while Sridevi remained more conservative.
