Tishaa Kumar passes way: Farah Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and others pay their last respects

Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan were visibly emotional, as they attended the funeral of Tishaa Kumar, the daughter of actor-producer Krishan Kumar and cousin of T-Series head Bhushan Kumar. Tishaa, who passed away on July 18 at the young age of 21, was mourned by family and friends. Farah was accompanied by her brother, Sajid Khan, as they paid their last respects to Tishaa

Tishaa Kumar was born on September 6, 2003, to Krishan Kumar and Tanya Singh. She was the niece of renowned composer Gulshan Kumar, the late founder of T-Series. Tishaa’s life was marked by her family's legacy in the entertainment industry, yet she maintained a relatively private profile. Despite her family's prominence, she was known for her humility and grace.

Reports indicate that Tishaa had been battling cancer for several years. She had recently traveled to Germany for treatment, where she ultimately succumbed to her illness. A spokesperson for T-Series confirmed her passing, stating, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected.”
The funeral, initially scheduled for July 21, was postponed due to inclement weather in Mumbai, which caused significant disruptions. The family released a heartfelt statement to friends and relatives, expressing their sorrow and the logistical challenges they faced.
In their statement, the family expressed, “Dear Friends and Family, it is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Tishaa Kumar, cherished daughter of Krishan Kumar and Tanya Kumar, on July 18th, 2024. Your presence and support during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated.”
Although Tishaa was part of a well-known family, she preferred to stay out of the limelight. Her last public appearance was in November 2023 at the premiere of the film Animal, that she attended with her father. Despite her limited public presence, Tishaa was often seen at T-Series film screenings, reflecting her connection to the family business.
