Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer spy series 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' had got fans excited ever since it was announced. To keep the excitement going, Varun took to his Instagram handle to share a quirky post, teasing more details about the series.
The actor shared a picture of himself with bunnies in the form of short toys and wrote, "Expecting good news 01.08 ." Since Varun recently welcomed his first child, a baby girl with Natasha last month, fans assumed that the actor was hinting at being a father yet again!
As soon as he shared the post, fans flooded the comments section with hilarious reactions.One user wrote, “i almost got a heartattack ", second wrote, "I thought it's another good news literally got a mini heart attack" and a third netizen commented, "Hottest bunny.” The excitement peaked when Raj and DK shared a cryptic post on social media featuring the digits “01.08,” sparking speculation about whether this date marks the release of a teaser, trailer or the series itself.

In a recent statement, Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her excitement and gratitude for being a part of the series. She had shared, "I never imagined I would do action. Being at this event is already a victory for me, because at one point, I didn’t think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be part of Citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK and Sita, for coming to my rescue. I just had to prep physically. I am so incredibly proud of how it looks. I can’t believe this is how it turned out.”
Meanwhile, Varun recently sustained a rib injury while filming an untitled project directed by his father, David Dhawan. This marks their fourth collaboration after successful films like 'Main Tera Hero', 'Judwaa 2', and 'Coolie No 1'. Reportedly, the actor has wrapped the first schedule in Mumbai, and the next is planned for November.
