Dulquer Salmaan recently opened up about the challenges he faces in the Malayalam film industry, revealing that he feels under-recognized despite his success in Tamil and Telugu cinema. He mentioned that a group of people continually targets him, creating problems for him when he works in other regional film industries.

Dulquer highlighted that an actor cannot sustain a career solely on their family's name, emphasizing that he is more than just “Mammootty’s son” outside Kerala.

In light of these revelations, it's worth recalling an incident from 12 years ago, during the early stages of Dulquer’s career. At a public function where Dulquer was the chief guest, he faced ridicule from the crowd. As he arrived, people around him began howling and chanting “Mammootty ki Jai!” in an attempt to mock him.
Despite the mocking response from the public, Dulquer handled the situation with grace, maintaining a smile throughout. The crowd also shouted “Mohanlal ki Jai!” aiming to further mock Dulquer in public.
Later Dulquer Salmaan showed his acting prowess with Anjali Menon’s ‘Usthad Hotel’ which turned out to be a break in his career. The movie was loved by many and turned out to be a super hit.
Currently, Dulquer is experiencing a low point in the Malayalam film industry, as his highly anticipated action drama ‘King of Kotha’ failed to impress audiences. The movie was directed by the debutant Abhilash Joshiy.
