Rusty grenade in Poonch district hospital premises prompts search

JAMMU: A rusty grenade was found on the terrace of a building in Poonch district hospital’s residential quarters Friday, prompting a search operation by local police and J&K Police’s Special Operations Group in the entire hospital complex (housing the residential quarters) and adjoining areas.
“Some children noticed the grenade while playing on the terrace and told their parents, following which police were alerted,” said an official.A major tragedy was averted because of the timely information provided to police, said a cop.
The search party seized the explosive.
