'What on earth is going on?' Anand Mahindra praises 9-year-old for her performance in America's Got Talent

NEW DELHI: Anand Mahindra, chairperson of Mahindra Group, on Monday praised a nine-year-old Indian-origin girl Pranysqa Mishra, who participated in reality show America's Got Talent (AGT).
"What on earth is going on?? For the second time, within the past two weeks, a young—very young—woman of Indian origin has rocked the stage at @AGT with raw talent that is simply astonishing," Anand Mahindra posted on his X handle.

Pranysqa Mishra, a 9-year-old girl of Indian descent residing in Florida, impressed the judges on America's Got Talent with her singing of Tina Turner's classic hit "River Deep Mountain High." Her performance was so impressive that judge Heidi Klum awarded her the golden buzzer, sending her straight to the live shows.

Immediately after leaving the judges in awe, Pranysqa made a video call to her grandmother to share the exciting news.
A video of her performance was posted on YouTube, which has now gone viral and has over 61 thousand views.
Anand Mahindra posted the video on X, and lauded the girl, saying, "With skills acquired in indigenous American genres of music. Rock & Gospel. Pranysqa Mishra is just NINE years old. Damn, I had tears too when they called her grandmother. Yes, America’s got talent indeed."
