India vs Bangladesh Highlights, Semi Final 1: India beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets to reach Women's Asia Cup final

India vs Bangladesh, Women's Asia Cup 2024 Semifinal 1 Live Score: Defending champions India trounced Bangladesh by 10 wickets at Dambulla to storm into the final of the Women's T20 Asia Cup.

Chasing a mere 81 runs to win, the pair of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma knocked off the required target in 11 overs with 54 balls to spare.

Mandhana reached 55 not out from 39 balls with nine fours and a six whereas Shafali scored 26 not out with two fours.

Earlier, Renuka Singh Thakur (3/10) ran through Bangladesh top order and Radha Yadav took 3/14 as India restricted their opponents for a mere 80/8.

Thakur snaffled three wickets at the top to return with figures of 4-1-10-3 as Bangladesh could never recover from a disastrous start.

Skipper Nigar Sultana waged a lone battle of sorts as she top scored with 31 off 51 balls with two fours while adding 36 runs for the seventh wicket with Shorna Alter (19).

Indian bowlers led by Renuka were collectively measly with the ball as Radha Yadav grabbed two late wickets to finish at 3/14.

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana won the toss and elected to bat.

Ninth Women's Asia Cup final for India

India advance to the final for the ninth time in the Women's Asia Cup's ninth edition. They had a perfect day today, save from the toss. They got off to a fantastic start because to Renuka Thakur Singh's economical removal of the top three batters from Bangladesh.

2018 champions Bangladesh was unable to generate any kind of batting momentum. Boundaries were not only hard to locate, but they were also difficult to rotate strike. The only hitters from Bangladesh to reach double digits were Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter. India limited Bangladesh to 80/8 as Radha Yadav finished the innings with 3 wickets.

It proved to be an easy task for the reigning champions to pursue. With a barrage of boundaries from Smriti Mandhana, India eliminated nearly half of the target in just five overs. The outcome was obvious from the start. Mandhana was caught at backward point by Jahanara on 35, although the pacer had overstepped by a significant margin.

In the next over, Shafali Verma was dropped; she wasn't playing at her most fluid today. Smriti Mandhana put a classy finish on it. a hat-trick of boundaries and reached her fifty run mark in the process, as India easily won with nine overs remaining.
