Ava(The Rock’s Daughter) Makes Official Announcement For Title Defense

Simone Garcia Johnson(aka Ava) is the daughter of "The Peoples’ Champ” ,The Rock. She is currently working for WWE and appears as the General Manager of NXT. She is the youngest General Manager in WWE history, who appears on screen. Notably she is a 4th generation star in WWE. As mentioned, she is daughter to The Rock(Dwayne Johnson), and a part of the massive Anoa’i family of the Samoan Dynasty.It was officially announced by WWE in February 2020, that Ava reported to the WWE Performance Centre and she had even begun training under experts, making her one of the youngest wrestlers to ever get a contract with NXT.

Ava made her debut appearance in television on October 25 2022, in an episode of NXT. She revealed herself as a member of Joe Gacy’s heel faction, Schism. After Schism was disbanded, Ava began her role as the assistant of Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels, on screen. Some time later, on January 23 2024, she got promoted and became the new General Manager of NXT. She also made her main roster debut, following that on SmackDown, where she had to assist GM Nick Aldis, during the Royal Rumble entry draw. After Ava is done with her GM role in NXT, she is expected to make her natural transition to the main roster permanently, either on Raw or SmackDown. Last night, she tweeted about an official announcement that she has made for NXT’s ‘The Great American Bash’.

Last night on NXT, she made the Official announcement for the NXT championship match between Ethan page and Oro Mensah, at The Great American Bash, Night 2. After debuting in NXT, Ethan Page made his intentions clear about capturing the NXT title from Trick Williams. Page eventually succeeded in winning the NXT Championship at NXT Heatwave, in a fatal 4 way match, which involved the Champion Trick Williams, Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans and Shawn Spears. A few weeks ago, following his victory at Heatwave, Page attacked Noam Dar, which infuriated Oro Mensah. As a result, Mensah attacked Ethan last week. Mensah has also been able to unofficially pin Page, a couple of times in the last month, which includes tonight. Finally, Page has agreed for the NXT Championship match between the two, at The Great American Bash, on night 2.

This is welcome news for all the NXT fans, as both the wrestlers have been going at each other back and forth, for the last few weeks. It was an announcement that was expected sooner rather than later, and a high voltage, action-packed match is expected to take place at The Great American Bash, between the two superstars.
