A case has been registered with the cybercrime police station.

How the scam unfolded?

The fraudster asserted that they have received 24 money laundering complaints against her, further threatening her with an arrest. Fearing arrest, the victim followed the caller’s direction who demanded Rs 80 lakh which was to be returned if the woman was found innocent.
The woman eventually transferred Rs 80 lakh to ‘clear the case’, only to realize later that she had been scammed.
