Zepto has rolled out a new monsoon-inspired feature on its app, offering special deals on popular rainy-day snacks when it's raining in a customer's area. The feature, which went live on today, aims to enhance users' monsoon experience by providing bundle offers on items like tea, pakoras, and Maggi noodles.
The idea for this seasonal update came from a customer's social media post.Yash Challani shared his positive interaction with Zepto's customer service on LinkedIn, where they suggested pairing chai (tea) with pakoras during rainy weather. The post quickly gained traction, catching the eye of Zepto's CEO and co-founder, Aadit Palicha.

Responding to the enthusiasm, Palicha and his team developed and launched the new feature within 24 hours. "Chai & pakodas in monsoons really do hit different, and this story made our team think about how to make it special for our customers," Palicha wrote on LinkedIn.
The app now displays a special banner during rainy periods, offering over 150 monsoon-themed bundles and buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deals. These promotions disappear once the rain stops, creating a sense of urgency and excitement for users.
The company hopes to make rainy days more enjoyable for its users by providing quick access to comfort foods and snacks typically associated with monsoon season in India.
