Gautam Rode reveals how he took Pankhuri Awasthy to introduce her to his friends for the first time before getting married and she didn’t ‘utter a word’

Gautam Rode recently shared a memorable moment from his relationship with Pankhuri Awasthy, recalling how she was extremely shy when he first introduced her to his friends before they got married. Gautam revealed that during their first dinner together with his friends, Pankhuri, who was quite reserved at the time, barely spoke a word.

He recounted how everyone was eager to get to know her, expecting some casual conversation, but Pankhuri remained mostly silent, only answering when directly asked.Gautam was taken aback by her behavior, as he had never seen this side of her before. He recalled thinking, "Pankhuri wouldn’t talk much back then. Now she has changed a lot. Now I come across as an introvert in front of her. First meeting with my friends…OMG… my would-be-wife. I made her meet my friends. We were eating and everyone was eager to talk to her. I thought atleast she would exchange pleasantries. Everyone is asking her hi hello and she would reply and then get back into her shell. Before that dinner, I never saw her like that. She completely shut herself off." His friends were equally surprised, commenting afterward that she didn’t talk much and seemed completely withdrawn. “When my friends came out, they were like, ‘arre he doesn’t talk. She didn’t talk to her. She didn’t utter a word. She only answered what was being asked. She didn’t ask anything. We got into an argument because of that,” he added.


This incident led to a small argument between the couple, with Gautam expressing his surprise at her quiet demeanor. Pankhuri shared that she has since made a conscious effort to overcome her shyness and now feels much more confident in social interactions. Pankhuri replied saying, “I am comfortable talking in front of family and my people. I was an introvert. In some situations, every cell of your body is revolting against you speaking. Now I have made conscious effort.”
