Vaquar Shaikh has bid adieu to Anupamaa for now. The actor, who played a restaurateur in the show, shares how this is not the first time he has worked with, Rupali Ganguly. Vaquar and Rupali worked together many years ago, before
they connected again on the sets of Anupamaa.
Vaquar said, “It was one of those episodics, which used to air as a weekly on TV during the 90s. At that time, she thought I was quite snooty and arrogant.
But, when we started working together she changed her views about me. After so many years when we met on the sets of Anupamaa again, Rupali joked ‘the ‘attitude-wala Vaquar is here’ and we both laughed over it. It was fun working with her.”
The actor feels mature love stories work on TV. “Anupamaa or Bade Acche Lagte Hai, might be those few shows which have explored mature love stories. A TV show can’t just be about youngsters falling in love,” said Vaquar who, apart from television, has also been a part of web shows like Silence 1 and 2. He added, "The dialogues, writing and the scripts in international shows are much better. I feel makers should adopt these concepts and that’s how we will be able to tell different stories on TV." The actor shared further, "I am also happy that TV is a woman-centric medium and we are telling stories from the women's point of view. The audience is mainly women so why not? And I have always got strong roles in women-centric shows whether it was Vidya, Heena or Anupamaa."
