🕰 Milestones of Robotics continues with Shakey, the first mobile robot that could perceive and reason about its surroundings, developed between 1966 and 1972 by SRI. 🤖 Shakey the Robot was the first robot to make autonomous decisions based on its environment, performing tasks like planning routes and interacting with objects. Its ability to combine perception, reasoning, and action set the foundation for modern robotics and AI systems, influencing how machines interact with the world. Today, it resides in the Computer History Museum and was inducted into the Robot Hall of Fame in 2004. #ACROME #Robotics #History #AI
