Milliman Pension Buyout Index October 2024: Competitive pension risk transfer costs increased from 100.8% to 101.7% during September. Average pricing buyout costs increased by 30 bps from 104.1% to 104.4%. “In September, we saw IBM announce a $6 billion PRT transaction, a good indication that the market will remain active as we enter the 4th quarter of another busy PRT year,” said Jake Pringle, a Milliman principal and co-author of the MPBI. How much does flooding really cost a homeowner? Spoiler alert: potentially thousands of dollars. 💸 Unfortunately, climate change is making flooding a more severe and frequent problem. Yet fewer than 4% of U.S. homes have flood insurance. ⛈️ The research in this report helped the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) convince lawmakers in three states to pass flooding disclosure laws.
