The US airstrikes against Houthi merchant ships and military targets in the Red Sea have deepened the security problems in Yemen, causing major disruptions in logistics and transportation activities in the region. Increased security threats are negatively affecting transportation processes, creating serious challenges for companies in the region. As the attacks continued, there was a significant decline in domestic market demand. This situation risks weakening Yemen's foreign trade and negatively affects economic activities in the region. In particular, the lack of secure ports has led to a decline in imports, negatively affecting economic activity. China's crude steel production decreased in the first two months of the year According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), this decrease in production occurred despite better margins and increased exports. Analysts were expecting a y/y increase, citing higher exports, but the data came up short of those forecasts. According to customs data released last week, steel exports increased by 6.7% to 16.97 million tons in the first two months of the year. Experts pointed out that steel producers accelerated their shipments against the risk of global trade wars after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump in January, which was effective in the increase in exports.
