Last night in #Vienna, our Waagner Biro steel and glass #team celebrated together the end of a challenging and successful year #2024 ! A big #thankyou goes out to everyone who has been involved in our #projects this year. Thank you for your continued #support, the good #cooperation and for beeing a part of this #journey.

On October 17th, the Zeman Group celebrated the anniversaries of three subsidiaries which have had a significant impact on the #steelconstruction industry for decades: • 170 years of Waagner Biro steel and glass • 60 years of Zeman Group • 50 years of PEM Gesellschaft m.b.H. The joint celebration took place in the EVENTHOTEL PYRAMIDE**** south of Vienna, a building that was built by Zeman and is therefore closely linked to our history. It was a great evening with inspiring #keynotes from Spencer de Grey, partner of Foster + Partners, and Robin Lumsden, among others. In addition, the #celebration was all about the long #history and successful years of the group companies and it was wonderful to see so many former #employees, #companions and other #business #partners together again in one place. Since our founding in #1854, the creation of new #architectural masterpieces has always been at the forefront of our work. However, the #service, #maintenance, and #redesign of existing buildings and structures have also been key elements of our portfolio from the very beginning. As a result, #sustainability has been embedded in our DNA for over a century now - long before the term, as we understand and sometimes overuse it today, even existed. Last month, under far better weather conditions than today (as the photos prove), we completed a #glass #replacement at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. This glass cube, full of impressive art and located in the bustling pedestrian zone at the heart of Baden-Württemberg’s capital #Stuttgart, now can shine once again in its old beauty.

Our colleague Nikolaus D. Straub just returned from the inspiring Challenging Glass Conference 9, which took place at the Delft University of Technology last month. Not only the latest #research results in the field of #structuralglazing were presented. It was also the perfect venue to meet new people and #network with professionals from around the globe. Engaging discussions, innovative presentations and meaningful connections made it a great experience. The UEFA EURO 2024 ⚽ has been taking place in #Germany for almost a week now. The tournament is played in 10 host cities and of course also in the capital Berlin. Waagner Biro steel and glass has a close connection to #Berlin, as we were able to realize some of our landmark projects here, such as the #ReichstagDome or the #SonyCenter. Last year, together with our brothers and sisters from Zeman Group, we completed the tower of the new Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung designed by Staab Architekten. While the glazing came from us, the team from #Zeman Vienna did the #steel #engineering and the steel #fabrication was done by another group company - Zekon Sp. z o.o. from Poland. As an international group with our headquarters in #Vienna, we are looking forward to Friday, when our #Austrian national team will be meeting our #friends from #Poland in this wonderful city of #Berlin.
