Is there such a thing as irrelevant job experience and the answer is yes. Including past job roles that have no relation to the job you're applying for can confuse employers. If the experience is from a different field, focus on transferable skills rather than unrelated tasks. Example of Irrelevant Experience: "Worked as a lifeguard at a community pool, where I monitored swimmers and enforced pool rules." Unless the job directly applies to safety, management, or customer service, leave out unrelated roles. Instead, focus on relevant tasks like organization, communication, and leadership.

The STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is most effective when answering behavioural interview questions, which typically start with prompts like "Tell me about a time when..." or "Give an example of when you...". These questions are designed to assess how you've handled specific situations in the past and predict how you might perform in similar scenarios in the future.
