What does Chicago Fire‘s Severide really want? Do we spy a return date for The Recruit? Will Ghosts‘ Sam and Jay meet their UK counterparts? Read on for answers to those questions and others! (You can and should email brand-new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)

Any info on if/when Chicago Fire‘s Severide will get a promotion? It seems everyone has been promoted, Casey, Herrmann, Stella… everyone except him. –Ari
Simply put, Severide isn’t interested in being made captain. “He’s got his focus on the thing he is obsessed with, which is arson and OFI, in addition to squad, which he loves,” showrunner Andrea Newman explains. “There’s a lot of politics the higher you go up in rank, and Severide has no interest in that. He’s a get-your-hands-dirty kind of guy. So arson is still very much on the forefront of his mind, the possibilities of moving to OFI are at the forefront of his mind, and all of that comes up. He’s dealing with all of that this season.”

Since the UK version of Ghosts has ended, are there any thoughts that Alison and Mike could make a visit across the pond to encounter Sam, Jay and their American spirits — not to mention the redcoats in the shed? –Charlie
Regarding the British sitcom’s creators who also played ghosts, “At some point, we’d like to have them all on, eventually,” says co-showrunner Joe Port. “But as far as [Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smith-Bynoe] as Alison and Mike, that sort of doesn’t compute for us because it feels kind of strange… It just seems too similar, or something, to Sam and Jay. Like, they live in a house where there’s also a pants-less ghost and a guy with an arrow through his neck….”

Six months ago it was announced that a potential New Amsterdam sequel was being developed by David Schulner. Any news about a pilot being ordered by NBC, or is NBC not moving forward with it? –Sophie
