Fresh frights are coming to Peacock this fall, when the horror thriller Teacup debuts Thursday, Oct. 10, with the first two episodes.
Peacock on Sunday released the full-length trailer for the series — which you can watch above. Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Scott Speedman (Grey’s Anatomy) star as Maggie and James Chenoweth, two members of “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive,” according to the official description.
James Wan (M3GAN, Annabelle) will executive-produce the series, which is inspired by Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel Stinger, with Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) serving as showrunner. The cast also includes Chaske Spencer (Echo), Kathy Baker (Picket Fences), Boris McGiver (Evil), Caleb Dolden (Single Parents), Emilie Bierre (Transplant) and Luciano Leroux (Yellowjackets).
“Teacup defies easy labels,” Wan said in a statement. “It’s a genre-bending blend of horror, mystery, and drama, with layers that unfold like a captivating puzzle. It goes beyond chills and thrills and holds up a mirror to humanity, exploring the darkness that resides within us all.”

I’m hoping based on a Robert McCammon really means it sticks pretty closely to the original novel – its one of my favourites of his and he really should be as famous as Stephen King – Swan Song is an absolute masterpiece (I’d say a shade better than The Stand) and The Wolf’s Hour and Stinger (that this show is based on) are also top notch!
I’ve tried to get through swan song a few times, i’ve never been able to get fully into it. Was thinking i had read one of his books but it was dan simmons (also underappreciated)
Read the plot summary for Stinger and if they follow the book it’s really not that complicated or defying easy labels…
That could be one of the worst teasers I have ever seen for a TV series. Just some shots of a teacup and scary music. Absolutely nothing about the plot ot storyline or characters or anything. Do producers actually think that teaser will attract anyone to watch the show?
Unbelievable.
Well, the people who create teasers aren’t necessiarly the people you are blaming first off…and secondly yes, creating intrigue and interest without spoiling the plot often creates a lot of buzz…it has a history of working
I’ll watch anything with Ben…I mean Scott Speedman in it, even if that trailer was absolutely useless!
