Mr. Li Mingshu, Vice General Manager of our company, represented Jines Engineering in attending the "22nd Cross-Strait Tunnel and Underground Engineering Academic and Technical Symposium" and delivered a keynote report. After the meeting, during exchanges with mainland experts on the treatment of subsidence and uplift of existing tunnel surfaces and the improvement of ground conditions when new tunnels cross fractured zones, several participating experts expressed that mainland China still relies heavily on traditional methods for grouting technology and disaster management. A highway tunnel pavement was situated over a well-developed and densely layered sandstone-shale subgrade. During the rainy season, the interconnection of rock strata joints and fractures with the high-water table on the surface caused water infiltration, resulting in arch damage and water seepage on the road surface. To prevent safety incidents, the maintenance unit convened relevant experts to develop a repair plan. In a hydroelectric power plant, there were shrinkage gaps that had developed between the water turbine draft tube and the concrete foundation during the cement curing process. To prevent potential damage due to vibrations or hydraulic impacts during operation, a contractor was commissioned to collaborate with maintenance personnel for on-site inspections and the development of a grouting plan. Our company's Deputy General Manager Mr.Liu accepted an invitation from Taiwan Power Company to serve as a training instructor at the Civil Engineering Training Program. During the two-day research and analysis at the Guguan Training Center, Mr. Liu deeply discussed topics with all participants, focusing on 'Geotechnical Improvement Techniques and Practices in Civil Engineering', 'Analysis and Countermeasures of Water Leakage in Underground Structures', and 'Geotechnical Improvement and Lifting of Structural Settlements'. Through the exchange of professional grouting experience, the most accurate and comprehensive concepts were established for the attending participants in future undertakings of civil construction engineering in power transmission and distribution, including 'ground improvement', 'water leakage improvement', and 'emergency response'.
